About Us

The Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the American Payroll Association is part of the 150 plus Local Chapters in the metropolitan areas nationwide sponsoring payroll-related meetings throughout the year.  Like all local chapters, the   S. E. Louisiana Chapter operates autonomously within the American Payroll Association national guidelines.

Our local chapter was founded in 1984 by Mr. James C. Maumus, as the Chapter Coordinator and the first President.  We currently have over 100 members, some who serve on the Board of Directors or various executive committees of local organizations.  We are a non-profit organization dedicated to enhance and uphold the principles and code of ethics of the payroll profession.
